Etude elbab
In 2020 I lived in the Künstlerhaus Lauenburg for five months. From my room I could see and hear the flowing Elbe all day long. I recorded the sounds and movements of the Elbe in notes and sketches in order to translate them into my own visual language. From the resulting new vocabulary I created a large-format graphic score, with this format allowing me to physically follow the movements of the Elbe while drawing. In a next step, the depicted wave movements are to be set to music by musicians, thus adding another dimension to the work.

Who has a bow?
In my work, I deal with the detection of sounds for visual phenomena. With the graphic score "Etüde elbab" I composed audible lines. It's about the flow of a river, the Elbe near Lauenburg. A line is an arc motion, a motion becomes a wave, and each wave hits somewhere at some point. The whole body takes over the playing of this score: the musicians hear through it and create sounds to see with it, the bow and the instrument. The focus should be on having fun with the game and your own inspiration.
If you are interested, I will send you an artist's booklet containing the scores, which introduces the notation, the types of play and the location on the Elbe. You can move freely through the score, even practicing and interpreting parts. I do not consider the composition complete. In a further step, I develop an installable video composition, a concert. For this I need a video from you (length, place in the score and quality of the video doesn't matter).
