The sound of raindrops varies depending on the surface and material they fall on. They splash, trickle, burst, and sometimes create a melting-like sound. The speed and intensity constantly transform the sound and shape. I explore these movements of sound and work to visually represent them.
The sounds of water—flowing, undulating, roaring, trickling, bubbling, boiling, pouring, and splashing—all inspire me. "I see sounds with my eyes and hear them with my ears." Wells, the sea, and rivers like the Trave, Spree, and Elbe each have their own unique soundscapes. At specific places, the movement of water creates a distinct sound that tells its own story. Through experimental work, I visualize these sounds, reinterpreting the dynamic nature and unique rhythms of water.
