In the Friedrichstraße subway station in Berlin there is a small, narrow staircase in the middle of the platform for the U6 line. For the project, the sounds of these stairs were collected in April 2018, but not with a recording device but with eyes and ears. Following research, analysis and systematization, five graphic scores were created. The focus was not on the sounds, but on the underlying movements. The compositions were performed on a specially developed staircase instrument.
