Requiem for a Car

Taking apart the Corsa also brought back memories of my father, who once drove a similar car and used to drop me off at the subway station early in the morning on his way to work. I began to see the car almost as a living being. This requiem became a homage to my father and to a passing time.
Drawing on memory and experience, I collected gestures and sounds related to the car and transformed them into a gestural score. Through hand movements and pencil drawing, the work emphasizes manual labor—connecting my artistic practice with the craft work my father once did with his hands. Hands, movements, and sounds evoke the feeling of continuing the journey together in the car.
