EVE

EVE, meaning the time before a new beginning, is an exhibition developed from the ongoing project 12312355–00050101, initiated in 2013.
Every year, between 11:55 p.m. on December 31 and 12:05 a.m. on January 1, friends, acquaintances, and strangers record their individual experiences of the same ten minutes. I call these recordings the “Time of the Others.
In the 2026 solo exhibition EVE at CR Collective in Seoul, the accumulated sound archive takes on a new spatial form through drawing and sound installation. Listening repeatedly to recordings from 23 participants, I create large-scale drawings that reflect my own perceptions, memories, and associations. The drawings unfold throughout the exhibition space, while the recorded sounds form an acoustic environment that visitors explore through movement and listening.
Rather than objectively translating sound into images, the exhibition explores how individual experiences are transformed, preserved, and encountered by others. Together, the recordings and drawings form a collective archive of situated human experiences—a form of data generated through living, listening, and remembering.
